I’ve tried to make games multiple times, but they’ve never reached a release. After working on a new game idea for a bit, I decided on fully commiting to an idea. Specifically the current project I am working on.
The goal
The goal of me making this game is to: release a game, that I am proud of and is playable on steam. Not some shitty unity project that turns on and that’s it, I want to make a full game, that is fun and actually worth it.
The first time was meant to be QuotaFactory, but that didn’t work out, but one day I may get back to it, but currently. Making a kingdom sounds much more enjoyable for me.
The game
So to get to the point, the game is meant to be a medieval kingdom builder, to win, you have to get full control of the whole map and fight of all the attempts at your kingdom and life.
Of course the enemy factions, will try their best to get inside of your kingdom and destroy your castle. Luckily you’re not just any Royalty, you’ve got abilities to change the world for your gain, with the power of magic.
The enemies, also have their own tricks up the sleeve, either trying to just run you over with all the force they have, or learning how to replicate your magical powers, in a more… destructive way. The more you use your abilities, the more they get to learn from them. You’ll have to decide on when and how to use the abilities, to make sure that your enemies don’t have enough time to turn them against you, but also to not get destroyed before you get the chance to use them.
Of course having just a few abilities would be quite repetitive, so you can choose which royalty you’d like to be. Of course no matter how loving, in this world, it’s kill or be killed.
Conclusion
For today, that’s all I have. I am excited to show some progress and share what I learn from this. As although there’s not much visually to show, I’ve learnt a lot already from the making of this game.
